What is muslin cotton?

Did you know that muslin (pronounced “muhz·lin”) is a cotton fabric dates back to 1298 CE, when Marco Polo described the cloth in his book The Travels?! In fact, it used to be considered a luxury fabric as highly prized as silk, due to muslin fabric's uniquely large breathable weave and durability in layers.

Muslin cotton weave is like gauze. Gauze is an example of 1 ply non-densely woven muslin cotton. However it is not soft.

Muslin Comfort uses 100% pure OEKO-TEX certified combed (aka long staple/fiber for durability) cotton (no polyester fillers!) that is woven in the classic the large-weave muslin style and put through our proprietary blend mineral washed to achieve ultimate softness. For additional durability and to assist in preventing snags or pulls du to the larg-weave, Muslin Comfort uses multiple layers of compacted combed cotton yarn woven in the densest muslin weave (aka thread count) capable of being manufactured.

Muslin Comfort’s signature 365 Blanket  - comprised of 8 comforting layers of pure muslin cotton - allows your body to breathe and does not trap body heat the way competitors’ synthetic fabric and "high thread count" bedding do. MC’s bedding will magically help you achieve the perfect night’s sleep, regardless of if you are a hot or a cold sleeper, because the natural fabric and weave allow your own body to breathe thereby creating each individual's perfect sleeping temperature 365 days of the year!
